  • Vehicle Defense
     February 29, 2020 - March 1, 2020
     7:00 am - 4:00 pm

**NOTE** While there is no prerequisite course to this class this is absolutely NOT a beginner’s course. So if you are planning to sign up for this course, understand that it is assumed that you do have a decent understanding of safe weapons manipulation and at least some experience with firearms that goes a little further than a few visits to the flat range.

As we train ourselves in various classes and do our best to handle ourselves on the street, many of us forget that we spend a lot of time in two thousand pound deathtraps called cars. The criminal element understands this as well and has accordingly taken advantage of the fact that many of us get pitifully complacent the very instant we shut the door on our personal vehicles. So the intent of this class is clear, in this course we will go over many principles that will make an individual far more aware of the issues that we deal with on a regular basis in and out of something as universally used as a personal vehicle.

Concepts Covered:

-General firearms safety in and out of a vehicle

-EDC and “Truck gun” configuration and augmentation

-Seatbelt and muzzle discipline

-Characteristics that bullets have once they hit different parts of a vehicle

-Holdover/ angle of firearm importance

-Effective medical gear storage

-What can actually be used as cover (It’s usually more or different than you think)

-An introduction to vehicle principles in the dark

-Individual and small team vehicle evacuation

-Enhanced problem solving and target discrimination drills

Gear Requirements:

-A functional, reliable, and zeroed

Carbine

Self defense pistol

Shotgun

Spare guns are also heavily encouraged

We understand that there are many different people that have different lots in life that have different reasons for using one or more weapons systems in conjunction with their vehicles. You may bring whatever it is that you use for your own defensive purposes.

-1,400 rounds of (recommended factory) carbine, pistol, or target shot

If you plan on using a combination of weapons systems, divide your ammunition accordingly.

**EXAMPLE*    700 of 5.56x45mm AND 700 of 9mm for those who want to use an AR and their EDC pistol.

-Eye and Ear protection (CLEAR EYE PRO IS MANDATORY FOR THE NIGHT SHOOT)

-Functional and reliable gun light (handheld lights for pistol are permitted but strongly discouraged)

***NOTE TAKING MATERIAL IS MANDATORY***

-Sunscreen

-Bug spray

-Rain/ cold weather gear

-Gun cleaning gear/ tools especially for optics (gear gets weird in training)

Other things of note:

There is a one time $25 range fee for this class that will be paid in cash upon arrival

You will probably need to bring a lunch our lunches do not exceed an hour.
We will be training rain or shine so bring appropriate clothing and plan ahead for the course. In this portion of the country, its safe to say that the weather has a mind of its own.

There is no minimum age to take this class.  However, students under 18 years of age are required to attend the class together with a participating adult.

Cancellations/Refund/Exchange Policy: If you cancel your training 60 days or more from your class date, you will receive a full refund. Transfers between classes or dates are permitted so long as the class you wish to transfer to has a slot available.

There are no exceptions to this policy. Please understand that you are filling a slot that could have gone to someone else. We cannot accommodate cancellations that cost other students spots in our classes. So if possible, we need to the keep the cancellations to a minimum.

Disclaimer: If you choose to modify your guns, you assume the liability of whether or not the gun is operating correctly. As such, you alone will be responsible in the event of a catastrophic failure of the gun, including damage to the gun and resulting property damage. If you choose to bring reloaded ammunition to class you are also solely responsible for whether or not that ammunition performs as intended.

Let’s be clear here, if you did something outside of factory specs on either the equipment or ammunition side of the house, or failed to properly assemble critical or noncritical components, and it explodes on you….. It’s on you.
