Pistol 1
This is a course dedicated to provide an individual with a set of self defense tools that they can use to develop an individual fighting style. This is not a course that spends 5 hours or half a day (out of two) in the classroom or describing a draw via powerpoint. We believe that while theory can be discussed until you’re blue in the face, it’s hands on time spent on a concept that actually builds proficiency, especially in the realm of self defense. Lets be honest here too, we have to beg borrow and steal time in the dark and this is when we will most likely have to handle a deadly force encounter according to all relevant statistics.

Concepts covered:
-Mindset of a fighter
-Self & home defense theory as well as purpose
-Concealed carry concepts
-Efficiency in the draw
-Efficient Sight acquisition
-Hard target/ Threat focus
-Managing a pistol in a 360 degree environment
-Proactive & Reactive reloads
-Various & situational fighting positions
-Efficiency in clearing stoppages
-An introduction to extreme close quarters/ contact shooting
-Movement while shooting
-Use of cover
-Working with a friend
-Crowd management
-An introduction to low light/ no light theory
-Low light techniques gauged for an individual life style

Gear list as follows:
-If you plan to carry concealed during this class (recommended unless your job dictates otherwise), undershirts of any kind are NOT permitted during this course. It’ll be dark and
we don’t need to be worried about undershirts the no one can see getting into holsters.

-Quality self defense pistol. (a spare pistol or back up gun is a good idea)
-*A GUN MOUNTED OR HAND HELD FLASHLIGHT IS MANDATORY*
-Minimum of 4 pistol magazines (x2 for 1911 guys)
-1,400 rounds of factory pistol ammunition
-Quality concealed or duty holster and belt
-Spare batteries relevant to the light you are using
-Eye / ear protection. Clear eyepro is also required
-***NOTE TAKING MATERIAL IS MANDATORY***
-Sunscreen
-Bug spray
-Rain/ cold weather gear
-Gun cleaning gear/ tools (gear gets weird in training)

You will probably need to bring a lunch our lunches do not exceed an hour
