Being able to accurately hit something that you are shooting at in a timely manner is something that we cannot overstate the importance of. Yes, while mindset, preparedness, willingness to fight, and problem solving are all incredibly important. We have to understand that at the end of the day the phrase “Slow is smooth, smooth is fast” is simply inaccurate. Even if it’s done well, slow is slow, and your mindset must match your skills. When time is life we need to be able to make our weapons manipulation an unconscious competency. So this course is designed to provide those tools.

  • Self Defense Rifle- Picayune Mississippi, March 30-31 2024
    March 30, 2024 - March 31, 2024
    8:00 am - 8:00 pm

This is a course dedicated to provide an individual with a set of self defense tools that they can use to develop an individual fighting style. This is not a course that spends 5 hours or half a day (out of two) in the classroom or describing sight alignment via PowerPoint. We believe that while theory can be discussed until you’re blue in the face, it’s hands on time with on a concept that actually builds proficiency, especially in the realm of self defense.

***ATTENTION*** This is not a prerequisite course. However, we do not suggest this as a new shooter’s first course as there should be at least a foundation for gun handling that an individual should have before attending a course like this. Taking Mechanical Pistol right before this course is highly recommended for those who are new or have very little formal training. Doing so allows the student to lay an initial foundation before expanding that initial understanding. This also gives myself and our staff more time to learn how you learn. As you can imagine, the more time we spend with you, the more we can develop you.

***NOTE*** The “end time” in the description is a lie, we will have a night shoot on the first day of class, and we work until we cover what we need to. This means that there is no “we will be done by” time.

Concepts covered:
-Mindset of a fighter
-Self & home defense theory as well as purpose
-Visual acuity prioritization in a dynamic environment
-One handed techniques for the strong and weak side
-Mental agility and problem solving/ Stress inoculation
-Threat focus and how it relates to the use of a red dot sight on a self defense rifle.
-Managing a rifle in a 360 degree environment
-Various & situational fighting positions
-Efficiency in clearing stoppages with two or one hand
-Movement and Movement while shooting
-Use of cover
-An introduction to crowd management/ negotiation
-An introduction to low light/ no light theory

Gear list as follows:

  • -Quality self defense Rifle and pistol. (Backup guns are a good idea)
  • A GUN MOUNTED FLASHLIGHT IS MANDATORY*
